Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics builds on some of the twentieth century's greatest advances: the development of quantum mechanics, the invention of the laser, the ability to manipulate systems on the single atom level using atom and ion traps, and atom interferometry.

At Korea University, our AMO research groups are currently active in the fields of quantum optics, cold atoms, nanowire based photonic devices, and RF-frequency optical reference frequency generation for space-based physics applications.
