강연주제: Organic Photonics for Effective Bio/Chemical Sensors
Organic semiconductors are attractive photonic and electronic materials
due to their high luminescence, quantum efficiency, color tunability, and
size-dependent optoelectronic properties. π-conjugated
organic semiconducctors have become qualified candidates for biosensing
owing to their unique optoelectronic properties and excellent biocompatibility.
p-conjugated polymer-based
bio/chemical sensors show enhanced detection capability because a local single
change can affect the properties of the whole system. Bio/chemical materials
can be readily identified through the variation of light-emitting
characteristics of functional organic structures when appropriate
receptors are linked to their active surfaces. For instance, the luminescence intensity
and color of the light-emitting polymers can be changed
upon specific biological interactions. In this talk, we introduce experimentally the
response to bio/chemical events by luminescent organic semiconductors
with success in our laboratory.
