Abstracts:

Semiconductor nanophotonics offers a flexible and robust foundation for investigating both classical and quantum optical phenomena, while also propelling advances in next-generation displays and quantum technologies. In this talk, we present recent progress in controlling classical and quantum light across a range of semiconductor nanophotonic architectures. We begin by presenting sub-micron light-emitting diode arrays produced through a novel pixelation technique that requires neither masks nor etching. We then describe fast, highly directional single-photon emission arising from quantum dots and structural defects within semiconductor materials. Building on this, we introduce a nanoscale quenching strategy that enables precise integration of quantum photonic elements with individually chosen quantum dots, permitting controlled coupling between purpose-built photonic structures and specific emitters. We also report room-temperature exciton-polariton condensation in whispering-gallery and superscar modes within hexagonal and triangular microrods, respectively. Extending this platform further, we develop polaritonic systems exhibiting parity-time symmetry that achieve low-threshold condensation even under increased optical loss. These results represent a meaningful advance toward practical photonic devices and open new directions for both classical and quantum photonic applications.
